Terms of Service

By accessing or using SongTyping ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

SongTyping is a typing-practice tool. It lets you type the lyrics of songs in real time while a synced video plays, and it tracks metrics such as words per minute (WPM) and accuracy. Browsing the catalog is free; playing is free for a limited number of songs per account, after which it requires a paid access pass (see "Passes and payment" below). The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial practice and entertainment.

Most of the Service is available without an account. Signing in with a third-party provider (such as Google) unlocks optional features like saving favorites and viewing your recently played songs. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account, and you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials secure.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these terms
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the Service
• Circumvent rate limits, security controls, or access restrictions
• Use automated systems to access the Service in a way that degrades it for others
• Upload or transmit malicious code or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems

Song lyrics, artwork, and videos shown on SongTyping are the property of their respective owners and are sourced from third-party services (such as Genius, LRClib, and YouTube) for the purpose of personal typing practice. SongTyping does not claim ownership of this material. The SongTyping name, interface, original written guides, and software are owned by SongTyping and may not be copied without permission. If you believe your copyrighted work appears on the Service improperly, please see our Copyright & DMCA policy.

The Service may display third-party advertising, including through Google AdSense. Advertisers and ad networks may use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Privacy Policy.

Each account may play a limited number of songs at no charge. Beyond that, continued play requires an access pass, purchased from our passes page. A pass grants unlimited play of songs in the catalog for a fixed period (currently 7 days, 30 days, or 365 days) starting when the payment is confirmed. Prices and durations are shown before you pay.

A pass is a one-off purchase: it does not renew automatically, no payment method is stored, and there is nothing to cancel. It expires at the end of its period. Buying a further pass while one is active adds its duration to the remaining time.

A pass covers unlimited play of songs already in the catalog, and allows adding songs that are not yet in it, up to a daily limit (currently 10 per day) that exists because each addition has a direct external cost. Without a pass you may play songs already in the catalog, within the free allowance, but may not add new ones. A pass does not remove advertising. It confers no ownership or membership, and no promise that the Service, any particular song, or any particular feature will remain available. Songs may be removed at any time, including in response to a rights-holder request.

Payments are processed by PayPal and are subject to PayPal's own terms; we do not process or store your payment details. You must be legally able to make the payment and be using a payment method that belongs to you.

Refunds. If you change your mind or bought by mistake, contact us within 30 days and we will refund the pass in full, whether or not you have used it. Refunding a pass removes the access it granted. If the Service becomes unavailable for an extended period during a pass, or we are unable to deliver the access you paid for, contact us and we will refund it. Nothing here limits any statutory consumer rights you may have where you live.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content (including lyrics or video availability) will always be accurate or complete.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SongTyping and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
