Every account gets 2 songs free to try SongTyping properly — and those songs stay replayable for as long as you keep the account. After that, a pass unlocks unlimited typing for as long as it runs. Passes are one-off payments: nothing renews, and there's nothing to cancel.

What a pass gets you — and what it doesn't
It gets you: unlimited plays of everything in the catalog, for the whole length of the pass — no caps and nothing counting down — plus the ability to add songs that aren't in the catalog yet.
It also unlocks adding new songs. Indexing a song that isn't in the catalog yet costs real money in lookup credits every time, so it's part of what a pass pays for: pass holders can add up to 10 new songs a day, and without a pass you can play the catalog but not extend it. That daily cap is a budget, not a nuisance — it still pauses when the month's credits run out, whoever you are.
It doesn't remove ads. Ads keep running for everyone. If that changes it'll be announced, not slipped in.
Questions
Does it renew automatically?
No. Each pass is a single payment that runs out on its own. There's no subscription, no stored payment method, and nothing to cancel.
What happens when it expires?
You go back to the free tier and keep your account, favorites, history and stats. The 2 trial songs stay playable; new ones need another pass.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Get in touch within 30 days and we'll refund it, no questions asked. A refunded pass has its days taken back off the account. See our Terms of Service.
I paid but nothing unlocked.
Reload the page first — access usually appears within seconds. If PayPal took the money and it still hasn't, message us through the contact form with the email you paid from, and we'll fix it or refund it.
Is this a donation?
No. It's payment for access, and it isn't tax-deductible. SongTyping is an independent project, not a registered nonprofit.
Free ways to help
- Tell someone who's trying to type faster — a friend, a student, a teacher.
- Found a song with wrong lyrics or timings that drift out of sync? Tell us which song through the contact form. Those reports are the main way sync bugs get found.
- Use the in-app rating prompt when it appears — it's short, and it's read.
- If you're a rights holder with a concern, the copyright page is the fastest route to someone who can act on it.
